Brian Fowler is the Japan and Korea managing editor for Bloomberg News, overseeing more than 130 reporters, editors and managers in the region. Fowler joined Bloomberg in 2008 in Tokyo, coordinating regional news coverage for Japan and Korea.

Fowler worked at Dow Jones Newswires in New York, Tokyo and Singapore for 14 years, finishing as Asia-Pacific editor for operations, before joining Bloomberg in 2008. He is from Kansas City, Missouri. He earned a bachelor’s degree from We sleyan University and a master’s in Asian studies and another in journalism from UC Berkeley. Fowler is fluent in Japanese.
