Andrew Salmon, a Seoul-based Englishman, is a journalist, broadcaster and award-winning author based in Korea.
He is France24’s English correspondent in Seoul and covers the Koreas for Forbes, France 24, The Nikkei Asian Review and The South China Morning Post; writes his biweekly “Lack of Morning Calm” column for The Korea Times; and was, for two years, presenter of the weekly show “Bizline” on Arirang TV.
His writing has also appeared in BBC, CNN, The Daily Telegraph, The International Herald Tribune, The New York Times, The New Republic, The Times, The Washington Post and The Washington Times.
He is also the author of Seoul Food Finder (Seoul, 2000) American Business and the Korean Miracle (Seoul, 2004); the Korean war histories To the Last Round (London, 2009) and Scorched Earth, Black Snow (London, 2011); and Modern Korea: All That Matters (London/New York 2014).
Formerly Research and Publications Manager at AMCHAM Korea and Seoul correspondent for Political and Economic Risk, Ltd, Andrew holds a BA from the University of Kent and an MA from SOAS, University of London. His interests include martial arts, history and beer.
